25 cents (quater) of 2014 from the series National Parks - 21st National Park Great Smoky Mountains State of Tennessee.

Obverse: In the center of the coin is a portrait of President George Washington to the left (shown in the restored version of the original portrait, used since 1932 on coin-kvarterah). Above the semicircular name of the issuing country: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in the semicircle the value of the coin is written - QUARTER DOLLAR. To the left of the portrait is minted the word LIBERTY (FREEDOM), on the right in a few lines - IN GOD WE TRUST (WE BELIEVE IN GOD) and the letter of the mint.

Reverse: in the central part of the field of the coin, against the background of mountains and lush forests, over which the hawk hovers, an image of a historical hut found in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is presented. Near the edge of the coin a semicircular inscription:
In the upper part - "GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS" (Great Smoky Mountains);
In the bottom - on the left "TENNESSEE" (Tennessee) and on the right "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (the motto of the USA - from many - uniform).
Also in the lower part is the year of coinage in the form of a horizontal inscription "2014".

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, covering more than 2,000 square kilometers, is located on the Appalachian slopes and encompasses the borderlands of Tennessee and North Carolina. The central part of it is occupied by the eponymous ridge, whose name translates as the Great Smoky Mountains and testifies to high humidity and incessant fogs in the mountains.
Great Smoky Mountains is rich in a variety of plants: it is shrubs, mosses, mushrooms, herbs, more than a thousand varieties of flowers. Mountain slopes are lined with deciduous and fir-fir forests, in which a record variety of trees is recorded - 142 species. In the Appalachian space, deer, squirrels, chipmunks, marmots, raccoons, foxes, salamanders feel free-only 66 mammal species and 240 species of birds. The right of the owner of these places and the unofficial symbol of Great Smoky Mountains was won by a black bear.
Great Smoky Mountains was declared a reserve in 1934 to preserve the nature of the southern Appalachians. Today it is one of the most perfect park areas and is protected by UNESCO. The park is equipped with information centers and hotels, the number of its annual visitors is close to 9 million people.
The territory of the park is permeated with mountain hiking trails, bicycle and horse routes, among them the longest (114 km) hiking route on earth, called the Appalachian Trail. In one of the valleys, the settlement of the indigenous Indians of Cherokee was preserved. There are historical exhibits, such as the hut of one of the first white settlers, built in 1822. The attraction of Great Smoky Mountains is the pristine nature, mountains, rivers and waterfalls, observation platforms with dizzying landscapes.
