Above the semicircular name of the issuing country: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in the semicircle the value of the coin is written - QUARTER DOLLAR. To the left of the portrait is minted the word LIBERTY (FREEDOM), on the right in a few lines - IN GOD WE TRUST (WE BELIEVE IN GOD) and the letter of the mint.

Reverse: in the center of the coin is an image that symbolizes the surrender of Britain in the War of Independence in 1777. In the circle of the coin there are inscriptions: the year of coinage, the state name, the park and the motto "E Pluribus Unum" ("Of many is one"). Also at the bottom is the year of coinage "2015" ..

The historical park was created on the site of the Battle of Saratoga, near the city of Albany, the capital of the State of New York. This battle is an episode of the War of Independence, during which, in October 1777, the North American patriots for the first time managed to win a major victory over the British army. The battle is considered a turning point in the whole war. After this event, France recognized the independence of the United States.

In 1927, in the state of New York, the Battle of Saratoga Museum was established, and a decade later a field was joined to it, on which the battle took place. This is how the national historical park "Saratoga" appeared. It has a number of attractions.

Here is the house of General Philip Schuyler (1733-1804), commander of the American troops at Saratoga.

In the small village of Victory (population as of 2000 - 544 people) in the northeast of Saratoga there is an obelisk 47.2 m high, built in memory of the victory.

A very original monument is dedicated to Major-General Benedict Arnold, one of the heroes of the battle. This story is connected with Arnold. In the final battle, Arnold organized the persecution of the retreating enemy, and then led the people to attack the enemy redoubt. Redoubt resisted. Realizing that the attack broke, and nearby is preparing an attack of another redoubt, Arnold went there, galloping between the two lines of troops and miraculously left unscathed. He led people into the attack between the redoubts and went into the rear of the enemy. After a hot battle, the fortification was taken, and his commander was killed. One of the last shots hit Arnold's horse, a bullet and a fallen horse broke his leg. From the battlefield, the general was taken out on a stretcher. In 1780, Arnold went over to the side of the British. It is said that when he led the British forces acting against his former compatriots in Virginia, among his captives was some courageous official to whom Arnold asked the question: "What will the Americans do to me if they catch me?" The official replied: "They will cut off the leg , Which was wounded when you bravely fought for freedom, and bury it with honors, and the rest of the body will be built on the gallows. " This prophecy was not destined to come true, Arnold quietly died in 1801 in London. In 1887, a monument to his injured leg was erected in Saratoga, depicting the general's leg, shod in boots. In memory of the betrayal, the monument is not named after the general, but is simply called the Boot Monument.

At 13 km from the historic park, beyond its territory, there is the so-called Marshal's House, a place where American women and children accompanied the troops, as well as wounded soldiers, took cover during the battle. She was the head of this small refuge of Baroness Frederick Rideel, the wife of General FA Ridesel Brunswick. She kept notes about the course of the battle, for this reason she is sometimes called the first woman in the world - a military correspondent. The soldiers called her "lady general" and "angel of comfort."
