5 rubles 2016 150 years of the Russian Historical Society.

Russian Historical Society was founded in March 1866 in St. Petersburg, its Statute was approved by the Emperor Alexander II.

The aim of the society was fully promote the development of Russian national historical education.

In 1873, the Company was named "Imperial Russian Historical Society". Its emblem was the image of the monument to Minin and Pozharsky.

After the revolution of 1917 the society was forbidden. On 4 November 2004, the National Unity Day in Moscow was announced for the restoration of Russian historical society in Russia.

The obverse: in the center - the denomination: "5 rubles", below - the inscription: "BANK OF RUSSIA", under it - the year of issue "2016", right at the edge - the mint mark on the left and the right - shows a stylized branch plants.

Reverse: in the center is a relief image of the monument to Minin and Pozharsky in Moscow. At the top of the semicircle it is written - "Established in 1866". At the bottom three lines engraved - "Russian Historical Society".
