Parque Güell is a public park system of gardens and architectural elements located on Carmel Hill in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Hill Carmel belongs to the Collserola mountain range - Parque del Carmel is located on the north side. Parc Güell is located in La Salute, in the Gràcia district of Barcelona. Given the urbanization, Eusebi Güell commissioned the design of the park to Antonio Gaudí, a renowned architect and face of Catalan modernism.
The park was built from 1900 to 1914 and officially opened as a public park in 1926. In 1984, UNESCO declared the park a World Heritage Site under the name "The Works of Antonio Gaudí".
Obverse: Fragments of the works of the great architect and artist Antonio Gaudi, in the Park Güell, created by him in the period from 1900 to 1914. The dome of one of the pavilions located at the entrance to the Park Güell is depicted. In the foreground is a mosaic salamander, which is a symbol of the park.
Reverse: The standard image for coins is a series. The denomination is 2 euros, the lettering is placed against the background of the contours of the map of Europe.
