10 euro 2013 Heinrich Hertz. 125th anniversary of the discovery of electromagnetic waves. G
The coin is dedicated to the scientific discovery of the existence of electromagnetic waves, made in 1888 by Hertz at the University of Karlsruhe, where he taught.
Obverse: coat of arms of the Federal Republic of Germany - a stylized image of an eagle. On the top, along the shoulder, there is the name of the issuing state and the year of issue: “BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND 2013”, the denomination “10 EURO” is indicated below. Under the eagle's wing there is a mint mark.
Reverse: image of the radiation field of the Hertzian dipole, which is the simplest system for obtaining electromagnetic oscillations. Inscriptions along the shoulder: "125 JAHRE STRAHLEN ELEKTRISCHER KRAFT" and "HEINRICH HERTZ".
