Mayotte Island 1 franc Dinosaur Ceratosaurus (2017).

Ceratosaurus (Latin Ceratosaurus) is a genus of carnivorous dinosaurs from the family of ceratosaurids, who lived in the Jurassic period in North America, Europe and Africa.
The powerful jaws of the ceratosaur were littered with a lot of sharp curved teeth. Certainly, it was a fierce predator.
Teeth of ceratosaur are sharp and curved inwards, absolutely typical for theropods. The upper teeth were very large, with the mouth closed they protruded below the lower edge of the lower jaw.
Instead of dropped and broken teeth, a new one quickly grew.
Short front paws ended with four fingers with strong claws.
On each foot of the long hind legs - three fingers, also with claws.
A long row of bone plates stretched along the spine, descending to the tip of the tail.
On the nose of the ceratosaurus there was a small horn. Hardly a horn served as a weapon - it was too small and most likely was just a decoration.
The skull is easily built, kinetic (could expand due to moving joints between the bones) to swallow large pieces of meat.
The tail is flexible, apparently, without rigid tendons, braiding vertebrae.
Tseratosaurs lived near rivers, lakes and marshes, often climbing into the water, and hunted aquatic animals: fish, crocodiles and turtles. However, they could diversify their diet with the meat of larger terrestrial herbivores, while participating in the competition with allosaurs.

One of two coins of the third series.
