Mayotte Island 1 franc Diplodocus Dinosaur 2018.

One of two coins of the fourth series.

Mayotte Island overseas department of France.

Diplodocus - the herbivorous dinosaur was extremely huge, the length and weight of the body were very impressive. True, because of such dimensions, he could not move quickly, although this would not do to him, because reaching maturity, his power exceeded the strength of those who dared to attack him.

Today it is considered the most awesome brew (of course, only after a seismosaur - 36m long and an argentiosaur - 40m), its long neck consisted of 15 vertebrae.
Diplodocus mostly lived in the marshland, knew how to swim. They came out on land for laying eggs and eating food. Eggs in size were not big, the same as today's basketballs. Egg laying was the same as in turtles: they bury eggs in the sand and walk away, leaving offspring without protection. When the little windings hatched, they tried to hide in more often forests so that the predators would not eat them. But when they grew up, no predator could resist this colossus; only a pack of predators could defeat them.
The head was very small, as was his brain (did not exceed the size of a chicken egg), especially if you looked at his body, it kept on his neck (7.5-8 m). Nostrils were located near the eyes.
The huge tail served to protect and communicate in the flock. It consisted of 70 vertebrae and was very mobile.
Diplodocus had a long neck and tail, fed on the leaves of trees, and for their grinding in the stomach they swallowed stones, moved on 4 paws.
They led a gregarious way of life; they consumed young shoots, cones, tree leaves and needles, and also used seafood (clams, small squids, algae).
