The first coin 1 sol of 2017 from the Fauna of Peru series - the-point bear (Tremarctos ornatus)

The coin is devoted to a-point bear of the Tremarctos Ornatus who lives in the Andes of the Western Venezuela and all Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia in a northern part of Argentina.

The-point bear is under the threat of disappearance and is included in the International Red List because farmers consider it threat to a livestock and crops, and as because of the fur, fat, meat and bile. It is considered that his gall bladder is capable to cure a lot of things diseases.

It is long a-point bear of 1,3 and 1,8 m and weight from 80 to 125 kilograms. Fur black or brown color, except for the person where there are white circles in a circle of eyes. The-point bear lives only in South America, mainly in Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia.

He prefers to live in crude and cold areas, in the woods and peat bogs. Living at the huge height where they build to themselves platforms for storage of products and rest, at ascension of a bear break branches and it allows light to get on the earth that is a key to emergence of new vegetation.

Reverse: in the central part, the composition of the-point bear having a rest on a log is represented. The scientific name Tremarctos Ornatus is also written, there is a geometrical pattern from vertical lines, the sign of National mint and the name and the name of monetary unit 1 SOL. Still there are images of concentric circles with the project of a humming-bird and the inscription OSO ANDINO DE ANTEOJOS.
