Portugal. 2 euros. 2018 year. 250 years of the National Printing House.

In the Statute of December 24, 1768, drawn up by the Marquis of Pombal and signed by King Jose, who founded the Royal newspaper or the Royal Printing Office, it was noted that the purpose of establishing a national printing house was to promote art and create print publications that were necessary for the general public.

Since the reign of Queen Mary I, the official printing office took responsibility for the publication of the Lisbon Gazette, the predecessor of the modern "Diario da Republica", the country's official magazine.

Obverse: in the outer circle - the traditional 12 stars of the EU; in the inner circle above the date "1768-2018" and the inscription "IMPRENSA NACIONAL DUZENIOS E CINOUENTA 250-ANOS PORTUGAL MMXVIII"; the sign of the mint "INCM" on the lower right is below, the sign of the author of the monetary project is on the bottom left.

Reverse: In the center on the right is a map of Europe with a horizontal inscription "EURO". The map of Europe is depicted on top of six vertical lines symbolizing stability; at the ends of these lines there are stars (12 stars in all - one for each end of the line, symbolizing the 12 founding countries of the eurozone). The sign on the left side is the number symbol of the face value - 2. The sign of the designer Luc Luycx - the two crossing letters L (LL) resembling the figure 4 are located on the right in the center under the letter "O" of the word EURO).
