Portugal. 2 euro 2021. Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
This 2 Euro commemorative coin of Portugal was originally scheduled to be issued in 2020, but had to be postponed until 2021 as the reason it was issued - "Portugal's participation in the Olympics" was postponed due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.
Obverse: Five Olympic rings are depicted on the central disc of the obverse. Obverse inscriptions: "OLIMPICOS DE TÓQUIO 2020 PORTUGAL NOS JOGOS". On the right side there is a mint - "CASA DA MOEDA", on the left - the name of the designer. There are 12 EU stars around the circumference of the outer ring.
Reverse: In the center right there is a map of Europe with a horizontal inscription “EURO”. The map of Europe is depicted on top of six vertical lines symbolizing stability; at the ends of these lines there are stars (a total of 12 stars - one at each end of the line, symbolizing the 12 founding countries of the eurozone). On the left side there is a numeric designation of the denomination - 2. The sign of the designer Luc Luycx - two intersecting letters L (LL), reminiscent of the number 4, are located in the center right under the letter "O" of the word EURO).
