Upon completion in 1825, the second term presidency of Monroe returned home to Virginia. Later, he moved to his daughter in New York, where in 1831 died from the disease. An interesting fact is considered that the date of the death of James Monroe, as well as the second and third presidents of America, is the 4th July - US Independence anniversary.
