More info

Romania 50 baths 2015. 10 years of currency denomination.

The denomination of the national currency - Leu was carried out by the Romanian government.

From January 1, 2005, four zeros are “subtracted” from the value of all goods and from the currency denomination, that is, 10 thousand lei become one lei. There was no withdrawal of old money - they went on a par with new ones until the end of 2006.

According to the Central Bank of Romania, the denomination is justified - in 2005 inflation in the country decreased from 9.3% in 2004 to 7.5%.

Obverse: From top to bottom the inscription "ROMANIA", the year of issue "2015", the Romanian coat of arms and the face value "50 BANI", against the background of continuous text in five lines "BNR50".

Reverse: In the center is the Old Palace of the National Bank of Romania, above it in two lines: “10 ANI”, “DENOMINAREA” (10 years of denomination), below “MONEDEI NATIONALE” (national currency) and “2005” - the year of denomination.
