The coin is 10 rubles, Meadows of a series of City of Military Glory (WAN) released on May 2, 2012
Meadows - a small town located 100 km to the south of Leningrad. This city is famous for Luga defense line constructed in June and July 1941 for the protection of Leningrad from the onset of the German Army Group "North". Frontier consists of two bands of Defense 10-12km depth, length 175 km. On the device, obstacles were occupied by five demining, one engineer, two and eight pontoon construction battalions, staff of the Leningrad military engineering schools, local communities and Leningrad, mainly women and young people, more than half a million people. The reverse of the coin depicts a modern coat of arms of the Luga, approved in 2003, based on the coat of arms in 1781.
The honorary title of City of Military Glory (WAN) is assigned to the Decree of President of the Russian Federation "For courage, steadfastness and mass heroism the defenders of the city, in the struggle for freedom and independence of the Motherland."
