Slovenia. 2 euros. 2019 year. 100th anniversary of the founding of the University of Ljubljana.

Ljubljana University (Slovenian. Univerza v Ljubljani) is the oldest and largest university in Slovenia. The university administration is located in the center of the capital, in the former palace on Congress Square, and the faculties are located in different parts of Ljubljana, and one of them, the Department of Navigation and Transport, is located in Portoroz.

As early as 1704, the faculties of theology, medicine and law were established in Ljubljana, in 1705 the department of physics and mathematics was established, and in 1766 the department of mechanics was created. They also covered the study of theology in connection with philosophical studies. Since the higher education institution in Ljubljana did not cover all the training courses, today it is also called a semi-university. In the XVIII century, medical and surgical research was introduced.

Obverse: In the central part there is a square - part of the university logo. The coin box is specially made matte to achieve a greater logo highlight effect. Above it is the inscription: "100 LET UNIVERZE V LJUBLJANI" ("100 YEARS OF THE LUBLIAN UNIVERSITY"). Bottom right is the name of the issuing state and the year of issue of the coin “SLOVENIJA 2019” (“SLOVENIA 2019”).
In a circle of the outer ring are 12 stars of the flag of the European Union.

Reverse: The map of Europe is located on the right side. The background of the map shows six vertical lines. There are 12 stars at the ends of these lines. To the left of the card is a numerical denomination. On the map itself is a horizontal inscription “EURO”.
