The 10th coin of the “Monuments of the Cultural and Natural World Heritage of UNESCO” series: Old Town of Avila. In 1985, UNESCO included the Old City of Avila on the World Heritage List.

Avila is a city in Central Spain in the autonomous community of Castile and Leon. Located in the northwestern part of the autonomy, surrounded by the mountains of the Sierra Gordos. Avila is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Spain, the historical center of which is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is surrounded by medieval fortress walls. The ancient fortifications stretch for almost 3 km and protect the amazing sights: Romanesque churches, medieval monasteries and Renaissance palaces. Avila is a wealth of artistic and cultural heritage that witnesses the glorious past of the city as an outstanding textile and pilgrimage center.

It turns out the real fortress of the city of Avila. Above the rim there is an inscription: ESPAÑA and the year of manufacture 2019 is indicated. Just below is the sign of the mint.

Reverse: Expanded map of the European Union countries, a variant of sample 2007, 12 stars (according to the initial number of eurozone countries) and 6 parallel lines - a symbol of stability. As well as the face value of the coin - “2 EURO”.
