28-gun ship "Standard" - the first truly nautical and martial sailing ship of the Baltic Fleet. According to its armament and size it is, of course, I belonged to the rank frigates, but at the time it was proudly called the ship. This event was far from ordinary and certainly not accidental. It is indicative of the large and very important progress in the struggle for Russian access to the Baltic Sea and unequivocally spoke about her future plans in this area. No less symbolic was the fact that in his maiden voyage "Standart" was released under the command of Peter I "Standard" - a three-masted frigate, founded by Peter the Great in 1703 on the Olonets Shipyard and became the first-born of the Russian Navy. It was designed by the Dutch shipbuilder Vybe Goerens.
