Turkey 1 lira 2022. Suspension bridge across the Dardanelles - Canakkale 1915.

In honor of the grand opening on March 18, 2022 of the longest suspension bridge in the world, Turkey minted a bimetallic 1 Turkish lira in a five-million circulation. Bronze and silver coins were also issued in denominations of 2.5 and 20 lire, respectively. The total length of the bridge, named after the victory of Turkish troops over the French and British during the naval battle of 1915, is 4048 meters. This is the longest suspension bridge in the world. The distance of the central span is 2023 m. It is noteworthy that 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. In addition to Turkish companies, South Korean firms also actively participated in the construction.
