Fatima phenomena of the Virgin Mary - a series of events in the Portuguese city of Fatima. On the assurances of three children, they were repeatedly "lady" (later associated with the Virgin Mary) and transmitted messages with appeals of a religious nature and prophecy. Recognized by the Catholic Church as a true miracle.

Fatima - a Portuguese city with a rather unusual name, located in the district of Santarem. Its population is more than 12 thousand people. The city is located 136 km north of Lisbon.

On Sunday, May 13, 1917, three small shepherds - a ten-year-old Lucia, a nine-year-old Franciszko and his sister, a seven-year-old Jasinta from the Portuguese village of Fatima - grazed sheep in the field of Cova da Iria. Suddenly, lightning flashed in the sky, and the children turned to see a radiant phenomenon. That beautiful Lady standing on a light cloud barely touching the branches of the tree was Maria herself.
During the third apparition of July 13, 1917, the Virgin Mary told the children that she would reveal in October who she was, and added that she would then perform a great miracle so that people would believe in it.

October 13, 1917, about 70 thousand people saw how the sun became white-yellow, so soft that it could be looked at, turned into a silver disk. "This outlandish disc quickly rotated around its axis, throwing bunches of colored light in all directions. Red rays broke through the edge of the sun and painted clouds, earth, trees, people; then, alternating with each other, the rays are violet, blue, yellow and other colors. " Then the disk returned to its place and again became an unbearably glittering sun.

The children claimed that the Mother of God had been seen, but no one but them saw her. At the same time, the Virgin Mary opened three secrets to the three shepherds.

Obverse: small shepherds are depicted on the background of the Fatima Sanctuary. In the upper part there is the inscription CITTA DEL VATICANO, and below - 1917, FATIMA 2017. On the right is the logo of the mint of Rome and the name of the author of the design O. ROSSI.

Reverse: In the center on the right is a map of Europe with a horizontal inscription "EURO". The map of Europe is depicted on top of six vertical lines symbolizing stability; at the ends of these lines there are stars (12 stars in all - one for each end of the line, symbolizing the 12 founding countries of the eurozone). The sign on the left side is the number symbol of the face value - 2. The sign of the designer Luc Luycx - the two crossing letters L (LL) resembling the figure 4 are located on the right in the center under the letter "O" of the word EURO).
