Argentina 2 pesos 2016. 200 years of Independence.
The Congress of the United Provinces of the Rio de la Plata in Tucuman on July 9, 1816 declared their independence.
Obverse: in the center of the coin there is an image of the sun (a stylization of the shoulder strap from the military uniform of General Don José de San Martin (whose portrait is depicted on the 5-peso banknote)) and the denomination is indicated: “2 PESOS” (2 pesos). At the top of the coin there is the inscription: “EN UNION Y LIBERTAD” (In Unity - Freedom). The year of mintage is indicated at the bottom of the coin: “2016”.
Reverse: in the center of the coin there is an image of a Phrygian cap - a symbol of freedom, strung on a pike, symbolizing internal defense. The image of shaking hands symbolizes the unity and brotherhood of the peoples of the united provinces of Rio de la Plata. At the top of the coin is the inscription: "REPUBLICA ARGENTINA" (Republic of Argentina). At the bottom of the coin are the years of the country’s Independence and the inscription: “1816 / INDEPENDECIA / 2016” (1816 / Independence / 2016).
