The coin is 10 rubles, Vyborg of a series of City of Military Glory (WAN) released on May 5, 2014.

The city of Vyborg is located in the Leningrad region, near the Finnish border, on the shore of the Baltic Sea. Vyborg - a major port, a major transportation hub, connecting rail, road and sea routes, a major economic and industrial center.

Vyborg was founded by the Swedes as a stone castle, a fortress on the site of the settlement Old Vyborg, prison-shelter, protected warehouses of goods, to keep under control the trade routes of the Gulf of Finland to Ladoga.

During the Great Patriotic War near the town of Vyborg took Vyborg offensive operation of Soviet troops. The honorary title of City of Military Glory (WAN) is assigned to the Decree of President of the Russian Federation "For courage, steadfastness and mass heroism the defenders of the city, in the struggle for freedom and independence of the Motherland."
