Ivanovo region was formed on June 20, 1918. The region is located in the center of the European part of Russia. Most of it lies between the Volga and Klyazma rivers. It borders on the Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Kostroma and Yaroslavl regions. The length of the territory from north to south is 158 kilometers, from west to east - 230 kilometers.
