5 rubles 2015 170 years of the Russian Geographical Society.

Russian Geographical Society (RGS) was founded by the decision of Emperor Nicholas I in 1845. This is one of the oldest geographical societies in the world. It brings together experts in the field of geography and related sciences as well as enthusiasts, travelers, environmentalists, social activists and all those who want to learn new things about Russia, who are willing to help the conservation of its natural resources. Regional offices of the Company operate in each of the 85 subjects of the Russian Federation.

The obverse: in the center - the denomination: "5 rubles", below - the inscription: "BANK OF RUSSIA", beneath - year of issue "2015", right at the edge - the mint mark, the left and right - fragments of floral ornament.

Reverse: in the center - the image of a globe standing on the book in the scroll setting, telescope and branches of laurel, beneath - the inscription in two lines:
"Established in 1845", the inscription along the rim: "RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHIC SOCIETY" split at the bottom point.
