The coin is dedicated to a Frenchwoman who lived a long life of 90 years.
She was a politician, writer, lawyer, but remembered all the struggle for women's rights.
Simon Weil was born on July 13, 1927 in Nice, and died June 30, 2017 in Paris.
During her life this strong woman had much.
Minister of Health of France (1974-1979) and (1993-1995). Chairman (1979-1982) and Member of the European Parliament (1979-1993). Member of the Constitutional Council of France (1998-2007). Having been a prisoner of Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps in childhood, Simona Weil was chairman (2001-2007) and a member of the Holocaust Memorial Foundation (2001-2017). Member of the French Academy (2009-2017).
Do not forget that in 14 years, during the Second World War - Simon Weil was a prisoner of Auschwitz and this war took her close relatives - mother, father and brother.

Obverse: depicts a portrait of the popular politician Simone Veil. Also, under the portrait, her prisoner's number was written, under which she was deported to the concentration camp of Auschwitz.
