France. 10 euros 2013 year. Hercules.

The image of Hercules on silver francs of different dignity, created by Augustine Dupree (Augustin Dupré) appeared in 1794. The author of the updated design was engraver Joaquin Jimenez (Joaquin Jimenez). The new coins are called "Erkul" - from the pronunciation of the name Hercule (French).

Obverse: the image of Hercules is engraved in modern interpretation. To the right of the hero of the ancient Greek myths is a goddess of equality with weights in her left hand, and to the left - the goddess of freedom with a Phrygian cap on her head. Together, mythological characters symbolize the concept of "brotherhood". On the perimeter of the border is the inscription in French "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ" ("FREEDOM, EQUALITY, BROTHERHOOD") - the motto of the Great French Revolution.

Reverse: between two branches of laurel and oak, their nominal value is indicated. The whole composition is enclosed in hexagons, symbolizing the outlines of France on the political map, it has been a symbol of the French Republic for 200 years already.
