India 5 rupees 2007. 150 years of the Cook movement.

In the 19th century in Punjab, India, the Kuka Movement (also known as the Namdhari Movement) arose in response to a number of socio-economic and religious challenges. The region struggled with economic inequality, oppressive social norms, and British colonial rule. Led by the charismatic Baba Ram Singh, the Kook Movement sought to confront these complex issues and bring about a profound transformation in the Punjab's social structure.

Rooted in the rich traditions of Sikhism, the Cook movement drew inspiration from the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the revered founder of Sikhism. Deeply influenced by Guru Nanak's message of social equality and spiritual enlightenment, Baba Ram Singh sought to revive the blurred core principles of Sikhism. His goal was to revive the spirit of compassion, justice and integrity, which formed the basis of the philosophy of the Sikhs.
