Transnistria. 1 ruble 2015. Nikolsky Cathedral. Tiraspol.
The obverse: in the center - the image of the State Emblem of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic; along the rim - inscriptions: at the top, "the Transnistrian Republican Bank", at the bottom - the year of issue "2015"; at the bottom under the arms - the denomination "1 ruble."
Reverse: in the center is the image of St. Nicholas Cathedral, and above it contains the inscription - "1804". On a circle engraved inscriptions: at the top - "St. Nicholas Cathedral," at the bottom - "Tiraspol"

Coins with the image of St. Nicholas Cathedral, Tiraspol issued with the blessing of the Bishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Bishop Sava. Issue coins dated to 223rd anniversary of the formation of the PMR, Tiraspol city.
St. Nicholas Cathedral - the main temple was in Tiraspol. The Church of St. Nicholas stood here even before the emergence of Tiraspol, in the village of Sucleia, which was then located here.
The church was made of wood, and once its foray in 1787, Tartars burned it, as, indeed, and all the then Souclin. With the arrival here of Russia and the laying of the fortress and the city at the fortress restored wooden church.
In 1804, the stone cathedral was built next to it, but in the 30-ies of XX century, the temple has been eliminated: demolished crosses, domes and other "symbols of obscurantism." In the building housed a school first, and then the Palace of solemn rites.
Tiraspol.
