In 1939, Pope Pius XII was elected to the Holy See, who ruled the Vatican until 1958.
Obverse: In the center there is depicted the Good Shepherd - a young man with a lamb on his shoulders. Above, in a semicircle, an inscription: PIVS XII / PONTIFEX MAXIMVS.
Reverse: In the center there is the coat of arms of Pope Pius XII, under the coat of arms the denomination of the coin is minted - L • 2. At the top along the edge of the coin, a semicircular inscription - 2 / A MOTTI INC / L / MISTRVZZI / STATO DELLA CITTA 'DEL VATICANO. And below the year 1941.
