The coin is 10 rubles, Tuapse a series of City of Military Glory (WAN) released on August 1, 2012.

Tuapse was neither famous seaport or border fortress. But the fate of the war has turned this city into a bastion of strategic importance for which a period of five months - from mid-August and may end in December 1942 - fighting troops of the Black Sea Group of Forces.

The Nazis counted from the Black Sea coast to break into the Caucasus, to deprive our fleet database, to capture or destroy the ships. Out in the Caucasus gave Germany strategic resources (oil, grain), and also had political significance - the Germans had the opportunity to connect to the Turkish army general staff which was ready to go to war with the Soviet Union and concentrated on the border about 26 divisions. During the 150 days and nights from August to December 1942 along the western forts Main Caucasian ridge - from Elbrus to Novorossiysk - were intense fighting, and the troops blocked the path of fascist CHGV 17th Army to the Black Sea coast. The war has caused Tuapse, like many other cities, huge damage. The city had to rise from the ruins and ashes. Tuapse honors the memory of the defenders of the city. Monument to the sailors, gunners, pilots, marines who died in World War II, known and unknown heroes remind us of the courage of the people who defended the Tuapse from Nazi invaders. May 5, 2008 the city was awarded the honorary title of "City of Military Glory."

The honorary title of City of Military Glory (WAN) is assigned to the Decree of President of the Russian Federation "For courage, steadfastness and mass heroism the defenders of the city, in the struggle for freedom and independence of the Motherland."
