Estonia 2 euro 2023. Barn swallow, the national bird of Estonia.

50 years ago, on November 26, the Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica) was chosen as the Estonian national bird in Tartu. For Estonians, the barn swallow, along with the cornflower, has become a symbol of Estonian culture.

The Estonian Ornithological Society pays a lot of attention to the Barn Swallow, as there has been a serious decline in its population in recent years. A number of campaigns are being carried out to raise public awareness of the topic.
