Germany 10 euro 2010. 175 years of the railway in Germany.
The first steam railway Liverpool - Manchester was opened in 1830. Since that time, the evolution of rail transport has begun. In the same year 1830, the first railroad was built in America between Charleston and Ogesta with a length of 64 km. The locomotives were brought here from England. Then the railway construction began one after another the European countries:
1832-1833 years. - France, Saint-Etienne - Lyon, 58 km (although in France locomotives replaced horse-drawn transport only in 1944);
1835 - Germany, Fürth - Nuremberg, 6.2 km;
1835 - Belgium, Brussels - Meheln, 21 km;
1837 - Russia, St. Petersburg - Tsarskoe Selo, 26.7 km.
Obverse: the stylized eagle is a symbol of Germany and 12 stars of the European Union. The inscription is "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND" ("FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY"), the year of coinage, as well as the mint mark.
Reverse: depicts the legendary locomotive "Adler", which passed on December 7, 1835, for the first time on the route Nuremberg-Fürth. The inscription along the circumference: "175 JAHRE EISENBAHN IN DEUTSCHLAND".
