1 Dollar from the American Innovation series, Incandescent Lamp by Thomas Edison (New Jersey). 2019 year.

The fourth coin in the series is dedicated to the Thomas Edison incandescent light bulb produced by the popular Edison Electric Light company at the turn of the 20th century.

In October 1879, American Thomas Edison first tested an electric incandescent lamp. This invention made Edison famous throughout the world. The incandescent lamp had no competitors until 1976 (then an energy-saving lamp appeared).

Obverse: In the center is a profile of the Statue of Liberty, to the left of which is the official US motto "We Believe in God" ("IN GOD WE TRUST"), to the right is the face value of the coin is "1 dollar" ("$ 1"). At the bottom of the obverse are the initials of the designers "JK" and "PH".

Reverse: Edison's bulb on a decorative background is depicted. The name of the issuing country is engraved on top in a semicircle around the edge of the coin: "UNATED STATES OF AMERICA". Below is the state name "NEW JERSEY"

Edge: Smooth with the inscription (* In God We Trust * E Pluribus Unum * year of minting and the mint stamp).

A new series of coins of 57 pieces.

The United States Mint launches a $ 1 (one dollar) coin program. New multi-year series in honor of American innovations and innovators. A $ 1 coin will be issued for each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the five U.S. territories of Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the US Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands, as well as the 2018 opening coin - the first patent.

Four new one-dollar coins with distinctive reversible designs will be issued in 4 pieces each year between 2019 and 2032 in the manner in which the States ratified the United States Constitution or were admitted to the Union. After issuing coins for each state, coins will be issued for the District of Columbia and territories.
