Poland 2 złoty 2014 Canonization of John Paul II.

The canonization ceremony of John Paul II took place on April 27, 2014 in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican. The canonization was carried out by the current head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, as well as his predecessor, Benedict XVI. The decision to canonize John Paul II, who died on May 13, 2005, was taken as soon as possible in the entire history of the Catholic Church, which this pontiff headed in 1978-2005.

Obverse: the Coat of Arms of the country is depicted, at the top there is an inscription in a semicircle: RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA, at the bottom the year of issue is 2014, the denomination of the coin is 2 złoty and the sign of the Mint of Warsaw M/W.

Reverse: depicts a portrait of the Pope. The composition of the reverse is complemented by stylized rings forming a nimbus. The inscription around the circle: KANONIZACJA JANA PAWLA II, 27 IV 2014.

Edge: repeating the word "NBP" 8 times
