1 Dollar from the American Innovation series. Nathanael Herreshoff's yacht. (Rhode Island). 2022

The fourteenth U.S. Innovative $1 coin in this series, representing Rhode Island, Nathanael Herreshoff's Yacht, is dedicated to Nathanael Herreshoff's famous Reliance yacht.

The yacht was built in 1891 and incorporated many technical innovations.
Reliance was an American yacht that won the America's Cup in 1903 and was considered at the time to be the largest sailboat ever built.
The Reliance was designed to take full advantage of the Seawanhaka's 90 foot rating rule and was only suitable for use in certain conditions.

Obverse: In the center is the Statue of Liberty in profile, to the left of which is the official US motto "IN GOD WE TRUST", to the right - the face value of the coin "1 dollar" ("$1"). At the bottom of the obverse are the designer's initials "JK" and "PH".

Reverse: Nathaniel Herreshoff's Reliance is shown in the center at full speed in the waters surrounding Rhode Island. The edge is bordered with a rope resembling a sea one. At the top right, in a semicircle along the edge of the coin in 2 lines, there is the name of the state to which the coin is dedicated: "RHODE ISLAND" and the name of the issuing country: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA".

Edge: Smooth with inscription (* In God We Trust * E Pluribus Unum * year of minting and mint stamp).
