The nineteenth U.S. Innovative $1 coin of this series, representing Louisiana, Landing Craft Higgins.

The coin is dedicated to the legendary landing craft Andrew Jackson Higgins from New Orleans. During the years of World War II, more than 23,000 landing craft were built at his private shipyard. In 1938, the US Navy and Marine Corps began testing the landing craft. The Higgins boat, capable of maneuvering at a depth of only 25 cm, allowed military personnel to easily land on an unequipped coast using a landing ramp.

Obverse: In the center is the Statue of Liberty in profile, to the left of which is the official US motto "IN GOD WE TRUST", to the right - the face value of the coin "1 dollar" ("$1"). At the bottom of the obverse are the designer's initials "JK" and "PH".

Reverse: in the central part of the coin, against the background of the sea, the legendary Higgins boat is depicted, above it are the inscriptions “UNITED STATES of AMERICA” and “THE HIGGINS BOAT”. At the bottom of the disk, the name of the state is “LOUISIANA”.
