Slovakia. 2 euro 2022 300 years of building the first atmospheric steam engine in continental Europe.

The coin is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the construction of the first atmospheric steam engine in continental Europe for draining mines. The steam engine was discovered in the Althandel mine in Nova Banya (Slovakia).

Reverse: a drawing of the first steam engine built in the Althandel mine, located in the city of Nova Banya. It was designed by British engineer and designer Isaac Potter and architect Josef Emmanuel Fischer von Erlach from Austria. The unit was used to pump water out of the mine. To the right of the unit is a vertical inscription "SLOVENSKO" and two dates "1722 - 2022". On the left is the coat of arms of Slovakia, there is a mint mark of Kremnica (Mincovňa Kremnica), consisting of the initials "MK", ​​next to it are the stylized letters "PV" - the initials of the coin designer Peter Valach. On the outer disc are the traditional 12 EU stars.

Obverse: standard image for 2 euro coins - the denomination of the coin against the background of a map of Europe.

Edge: inscription in Slovak - "SLOVENSKÁ REPUBLIKA", followed by three characters: star - linden leaf - star.
