Obverse: In the center of the coin is a portrait of President George Washington to the left (shown in the restored version of the original portrait, used since 1932 on coin-kvarterah). Above the semicircular name of the issuing country: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in the semicircle the value of the coin is written - QUARTER DOLLAR. To the left of the portrait is minted the word LIBERTY (FREEDOM), on the right in a few lines - IN GOD WE TRUST (WE BELIEVE IN GOD) and the letter of the mint.

Reverse: In the central part of the coin field, an image of a monument located in the Ridge cemetery and dedicated to the 72nd Infantry Regiment of Pennsylvania is presented. Below the monument in the foreground is a cannon. Near the edge of the coin a semicircular inscription:

The National Military Park Gettysburg keeps a memory of the most bloody time in American history - the Civil War of 1861-1865. During the confrontation between the states of the North and the South, almost 2000 battles took place. The most significant battle took place in the city of Gettysburg and was a turning point in the war. The military cemetery and the city park were united into a single memorial, which became the most famous landmark in Pennsylvania.

In the Battle of 1863 at Gettysburg, more than 50,000 people died, including several large military leaders. In the same year, at the opening of the national cemetery, Abraham Lincoln made a speech that went down in the history of oratory. The President estimated the outcome of the Civil War as a revival of freedom and the beginning of the creation of a united nation. It was Gettysburg speech carved at the Washington Monument Lincoln.

The National Military Park, located on an area of ​​more than 16 square meters. Km, was officially opened in 1895. This is the largest historical memorial, which includes 1300 monuments, 100 historical buildings and buildings, 20 museums. The vast field is saturated with an atmosphere of heroic time and is filled with gun barrels, redoubts, observation towers and monuments dedicated to various states, regiments, generals, ordinary soldiers of both armies.

Tourists are offered tours, films, cyclamoras (circular panorama), describing the battle in detail. Parades, concerts and exhibitions are regularly arranged on the territory, in July days of "living history" and reconstruction of the battle with the participation of 20 thousand people are held. The Gettysburg military park is visited by schoolchildren from all over the country - American history was created here and American patriotism is brought up.
