Obverse: In the center of the coin is a portrait of President George Washington to the left (shown in the restored version of the original portrait, used since 1932 on coin-kvarterah). Above the semicircular name of the issuing country: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in the semicircle the value of the coin is written - QUARTER DOLLAR. To the left of the portrait the word LIBERTY (FREEDOM) is minted, on the right in several lines - IN GOD WE TRUST (WE BELIEVE IN GOD) and the letter of the mint.

Reverse: In the central part of the coin field, an image of Mount Hood is represented, at the foot of which there is a pine forest on the shore of the lake. Near the edge of the coin a semicircular inscription:

Mount Hood is one of the most visited national forests in the United States. Located in Oregon, in the temperate climate zone of the Pacific Northwest. Covering 4318 km² of territory in the valley of the Willamette River with the towering giant volcano Mount Hood.

The history of the reserve began in 1892 with the formation of the Bull Run forest park, to which in the twentieth century a part of the chain of the Cascade mountains was added. The highest peak in the Oregon cascade (3426 m) belongs to the Mount Hood stratovolcano, the cone of which is composed of layers of hardened lava and its debris. An extinct volcano is still considered potentially active, although a serious eruption is unlikely. Mount Hood - the peak that deserved great popularity among climbers with its height and beautiful views.

The volcano has 6 ski areas with a total area of ​​18.6 km². The large Timberline ski resort is the only ski resort in North America that provides year-round ski slopes with a ski lift. Its peculiar sight is the hotel, from the porch of which during the "Great Depression" Franklin Roosevelt delivered an inspired speech to the people who equipped the park.

Four million visitors annually come to Mount Hood to enjoy the views of the snow-capped mountain peaks reflected in Lake Trillium, the dense forests, the Ramona waterfall - one of the most beautiful on the planet. The reserve is equipped with 170 places for recreation, including beaches, cozy hotels, the volcano surrounding the "Timberline" trail 65 km long, the popular route "Pacific Cross". The total length of hiking trails reaches 2000 kilometers. In the forests of the Mount Hood Reserve, picking berries and mushrooms is allowed, hunting, fishing, rowing and rafting, hiking and cycling, horseback riding, skiing, mountaineering.
